Tour Stop 2 on the Wildeness Battleifled Auto TourStop Two of the Wilderness Battlefield Auto Tour is the Wilderness Battlefield Exhibit Shelter. It is is on the north side of Constitution Highway, Virginia Route 20, known at the time of the battle as the Orange Turnpike. There is a relatively large parking area at the shelter.

Exhibit Shelter

The open air exhibit shelter contains sixteen displays that tell the story of the battle and provide the visitor with a good background orientation for the rest of the tour. The shelter is not manned full time and does not have water or indoor rest rooms available.

Gordon Attack Flank Trail

The shelter is the starting point for the Gordon Attack Flank Trail, a two mile loop trail with interpretive markers. Nearby markers and monument on the trail:

Tour Stop Two is on the north side of Constitution Highway, Virginia Route 20, about 1.7 miles southwest of Virginia Route 3. (38°19’02.8″N 77°45’23.9″W)

Turn right leaving the parking area and continue about 0.2 mile on Route 20. Turn left onto Hill-Ewell Drive. Tour Stop Three is immediately after the turn.
