Winchester


Stonewall Confederate Cemetery is part of Mount Hebron Cemetery on the northeast side of Winchester, Virginia. Dedicated in 1866, it is the final resting place for 2,575 Confederate soldiers who died in the battles and hospitals of the Lower Shenandoah Valley.

The main cemetery entrance is from Boscawen Avenue at East Lane. The cemetery is divided into sections for each state, with a large monument in the center “To the Unknown and Unrecorded Dead.”
