The Groveton – Second Battle of Bull Run monument is at Stop 8, Groveton Confederate Cemetery, on the Manassas Battlefield Driving Tour. The monument was placed in 1928 by the Battlefield Markers Association – Western Division. It is one of a number of similar monuments marking Civil War battlefields in Virginia. Groveton
Second Battle of Bull Run
August 30, 1862
Confederates under Generals Lee, Jackson
and Longstreet defeated Federals under
General Pope. General Longstreet dined
at Old Dogan House. Fierce fight of R.R. cut
half mile northwest.

Location of the monument
The monument is just west of the parking area at Stop 8, Groveton Confederate Cemetery, on the north side of US 29, Lee Highway, just east of its intersection with Groveton Road, known as Featherbed Road north of the highway.
