The Compass Rose is one of several erected on the battlefields of Spotsylvania County. It is at Stop 3 on the Auto Tour. It is on the walking trail just a few yards east of the 49th New York monument. Another Compass is on the Spotsylvania battlefield at the Brock Road entrance to the park.
