The Harpers Ferry Visitor Center is 0.2 mile south of U.S. 340 at Shenandoah Street. It has exhibits and a bookstore that includes a great deal of information on the Civil War history of Harpers Ferry. A shuttle bus allows visitors visitors to leave their vehicles and take a short trip to Harpers Ferry’s Lower Town, where there is no parking.
