Cold Harbor • Tour the Battlefield • Monuments & Markers • The Armies
Only a small part of the Cold Harbor battlefield is preserved but that portion, at the heart of the battlefield, provides several ways to explore the battle:

The Cold Harbor Auto Tour, which starts at the Cold Harbor Visitor Center, takes drivers on a short loop through the National Battlefield Park
The Cold Harbor Walking Tour Primary Trail also starts at the Visitor Center and follows a mile-long loop across the battlefield. The Cold Harbor Walking Tour Extended Trail branches off from the Primary Trail to loop around the northern part of the park
Cold Harbor National Cemetery is the final resting place for 2,000 Union soldiers.
Garthright House, about 3/4 mile from the Visitor Center, is a separate plot administered by the National Park Service that preserves this building, used as a hospital during and after the battle.
Hanover County Park, also about 3/4 mile from the Visitor Center, features a mile long hiking trail with a number of interpretive markers among well-preserved earthworks.
