In front of Chatham Manor (the side facing the river) there are two large siege artillery pieces, several Civil War wayside markers and a display of scaled-down reproductions of the pontoon boats that played such a major role in the battle.
Several wayside markers tell the story of Chatham Manor during the Civil War:
A Bloody Crossing and Pontoon Bridges
A Changed Landscape
Beleaguered Town and Bombardment
Between Battles
Picture of Desolation
