The Cold Harbor National Park Visitor Center is on Cold Harbor Road about nine miles from downtown Richmond. (see map below)

The Visitor Center is the ideal starting point for a visit to the Cold Harbor battlefield. It hosts a number of displays as well as a multimedia map that gives the history of both the 1862 and 1864 battles that were fought here.

The Visitor Center is the starting point for a short 1.5 mile Cold Harbor Auto Tour, a 1 mile Cold Harbor Walking Tour Primary Trail, and an extended two mile walking tour.
