Prospect Hill is Stop Six and the final stop on the Fredericksburg Battlefield Auto Tour. It is at the end of Lee Drive about 4.5 miles east of Lafayette Boulevard. (see map below)

Prospect Hill is stop Six on the Fredericksburg Battlefield Auto Tour

This was the right flank of the Confederate line in the 1862 battle. A 0.2 mile trail leads to Hamilton’s Crossing, the farthest supply trains could be safely brought on the railroad before they could be hit by Union artillery from across the river.

Location of Stop Six

Stop Six is at the end of Lee Drive about 4.5 miles east of its beginning on Lafayette Boulevard. (38°14’52.5″N 77°26’07.5″W) It is the last stop on the Autp Tour, although two locations that are not on the tour, Pelham and Slaughter Pen, are a short distance away.
