The monument to Colonel Turner Ashby’s 7th Virginia Cavalry with a tablet listing the officers and men of Company C is in Edinburg, Virginia. A nearby bench is dedicated to Erasmus Hauserman of Company K, 12th Virginia Cavalry. The monument is next to the “Civil War Action in Edinburg” Virginia historical marker. Ashby was “stonewall” Jackson’s favorite cavalry commander and was killed on June 6, 1862 outside Harrisonburg, Virginia, where there is a monument. He is buried with his brother Richard in Stonewall Confederate Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia.
