The First Battle of Winchester Virginia historical marker 7-A shows the location of the beginning of the First Battle of Winchester, a victory of Confederate General Thomas ‘Stonewall’ Jackson over Union General Nathaniel Banks during the Valley Campaign of 1862. It was placed in 1928 by the Virginia Conservation and Development Commission.

The marker is on the south side south of Winchester, Virginia on the east side of Valley Avenue (U.S. 11) about 200 yards north of the intersection with Cedar Creek Grade/Weems Lane. (39°09’49.0″N 78°10’58.4″W)
