Winchester > Second Battle of Winchester
The Second Battle of Winchester B19 Virginia historical marker is along the eastbound lanes of US 50 just west of Winchester (see map below) It shows the movement of Confederate General Jubal Early in his march to outflank Union General Robert Milroy during the Second Battle of Winchester, part of the Gettysburg Campaign of June, 1863. Milroy’s force was almost completely destroyed in two days of fighting, clearing the way for Lee’s invasion of Pennsylvania. The marker was placed in 1929 by the Virginia Conservation and Development Commission.

Location
The marker is west of Winchester, Virginia on the south side of Northwestern Pike (U.S. 50) about 0.75 mile west of the interchange with Virginia Route 37. (39°11’30.2″N 78°12’45.6″W)
