Tapp Field is Stop 6 on the Wilderness Battlefield Auto Tour. It is on the south side of Hill-Ewell Drive about 3 miles southeast of Virginia Route 20 and 0.3 miles west of Orange Plank Road.
A short walk leads to two wayside markers that look over the field:

Tour Stop Six is on Hill-Ewell Drive about 3 miles southeast of Virginia Route 20 and 0.3 miles west of Orange Plank Road. (38°17’39.9″N 77°43’29.2″W)
Directions to the next stop on the Auto Tour:
Continue east on Hill-Ewell Drive 0.3 mile to Orange Plank Road. Turn left and proceed 0.35 mile. The stop is on the right side.
There are two monuments in between Stop 6 and Stop 7:
The monument to General James Wadsworth is on the north side of Orange Plank Road about 450 feet east of Hill-Ewell Drive. It has a small pull-out on the north side of the road.
The monument to Colonel James Nance is on the south side of Orange Plank Road about 650 feet west of Hill-Ewell Drive. There is no place here to pull off busy Orange Plank Road; it may be safest to park on Hill-Ewell Drive and walk down to the monument.
