Chinn Ridge is Stop 10 of the Manassas Battlefield Driving Tour. This was a minor area during the 1861 battle, but during the 1862 battle Longstreet’s attack on the final day swept across the fields while Federal forces sacrificed themselves to desperately buy time for the army to withdraw.Map of Chinn Ridge on the Manassas battlefield showing trails, monuments and markers.

Location of Chinn Ridge, Stop 10 of the Manassas Battlefield Driving Tour

Chinn Ridge is reached by a park road that turns off Sudley Road (Virginia 234) directly opposite the entrance to the Henry Hill Visitor Center. Although unnamed, the road is clearly marked by National Park signage for Chinn Ridge. From Sudley Road it is about 0.9 mile to the parking area at the end of the road. Another one-way road returns visitors to Sudley Road.
