The Petersburg Western Front Auto Tour begins at the intersection of Flank Road and Halifax Road, 3.2 miles west of Crater Road. It continues about 5.5 miles, stopping at 2 Union and 1 Confederate forts and the Poplar Grove National Cemetery. The monuments and marker commemorating the death of Confederate General A.P. Hill are not part of the tour but are a short distance from the final tour stop and on the way to both Pamplin Historical Park and the Five Forks battlefield.
